Joanna and Chip Gaines made modern farmhouse decor all the rage when they first started the show Fixer Upper and things haven't died down since. If you love the look of the farmhouse decor and you want to incorporate it into your interior design, then why not start with a small spot in your house like your bathroom? Depending on your budget, there are several things that you can do to make a bathroom that even Joanna Gaines herself would be jealous of.

Add Shiplap

Shiplap is the ultimate way to make your bathroom look like it belongs in a farmhouse in the middle of Texas. The fun thing about shiplap is that it's easy to install on your own if you want to save some money. Typically all you have to do is get panels of wood that are pre-cut and then nail them directly into the drywall in your home using a nail gun. Then, you can paint them white for a more signature look or you can paint it for something more modern.

Cement Tile

Cement tile is a fun way to add an element of design, texture, and color into any bathroom that you are remodeling. Although cement tile isn't something that you would think of with traditional farmhouse decor, it is something that will make it look a bit more modern without clashing with the vibe overall. Depending on the color scheme that you are doing in your bathroom, you may want to do colors like grey and white, blue and white, or black and white.

If you don't want to commit to having cement tile on your floor, then consider adding it into the inset of your shower for a more subtle vibe.

Get a Wooden Vanity

Light oak is something that's really trending right now in cabinetry and it's something that you can incorporate into your bathroom remodel in your vanity. Depending on the size of your bathroom, you may be able to get an extra-large wood vanity that has tons of storage in it or you may have to go with something that's a bit smaller in order to fit into your space. By adding black hardware to your wood vanity, you can make it look a little bit more vintage and have that farmhouse vibe that you are going for.

Living on a big farm may not be something that you can turn into a reality, but bringing a little bit of the farmhouse vibes into your home is something that's certainly possible. To learn more information, reach out to a company such as Bay Tile Kitchen & Bath.
